LASIK

Well I found out this morning at 9:30am that I am an excellent candidate for LASIK surgery and my surgery is on May 20th!!! I can not believe this is happening, I am beyond excited and thankful---Dad I really appreciate you thinking of me and putting me on your insurance! All, please pray for me that day if you remember :)

Let's see...last night Seth and I had a great bible study with our group. It is so wonderful that we all trust each other and are growing together in life. (we are by far perfect) and that is why it is so good to have a group of people to love each other and keep each other accountable. I am very thankful that I have so many great women in my life. :)

I am also looking foward to going to Houston soon!! Yay!

"But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,  by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity." Ephesians 2:13-16

Full of Joy

This weekend was relaxing but busy. I did miss my family and all the events that went on, and so did Seth but we know we will see them soon! :) The weather has been crazy here lately, but I think it has passed through...sunshine and highs in the 70's for the rest of the week--perfect!

I got a cute picture of our "children" this weekend. They love to sit out on the balcony together!

I am so very thankful for all of the things, people and family in my life. It is so easy to forget that we are only here for a short amount of time. We take for granted the things that we have. What we do have isn't even ours, it is God's- who created EVERYTHING! I try and live my life according to this truth and thank God daily for the roof over my head and food in my belly! :)

"...the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace." James 3:17-18

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday and I have to work... but this day means a lot to me and my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. The death of Jesus Christ on Calvary is observed today.

What it means to me: LOVE

I didn't know what love was until I knew what Christ had done on the cross. He lived a perfect and blameless life, tempted in all we are tempted, yet had no sin. He, being rich in His mercy died in my place so that when I stand before God, Christ's blood has washed over me and I will live in eternity worshipping my amazing Creator. What a love that is!!! The God who created ME- a depraved human from birth- came down to earth and died on a cross because He loves me.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." John 1:1-5

LASIK

Today, the most exciting thing that has happened so far is I made a screening appointment for LASIK eye surgery. It will be on 4/28/11 from 8am-10am. I am really happy that my dad is making this possible. A life without contacts and glasses...it brings a smile to my face just typing it! Thank you Dad!

But if you remember...pray that the appointment goes well and that I won't need corrective surgery before LASIK is possible. If that ends up being the case I will probably not be able to get the surgery. But all in all I have faith and whatever is suppose to happen will happen. Thank you Lord that I can have joy, even in times of anxiety and fear!

"...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2

Earth Day Festival

Today on UTA campus we are celebrating Earth day with a festival. Lots of great give-a-ways and if you brought something to recycle you got to pick a small herb. I chose the Sweet Basil Herb!

This is a picture of it on my desk, I can't wait to take it home and cook some homemade spaghetti with it!

Thank you Lord for this job and all the wonderful friends I have made. Please give me the courage and strength to continue to be a light in this dark world.

"Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." John 8:12

Very first blog

"Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16

I decided to start a blog for a few reasons: Number one, my best friend has one and I LOVE to read it and look at all the pictures she puts up. Number two, I love to write and to keep a journal online is very convenient. Number three, I would like to look back at what was going on in my life in the years to come, and maybe even show my kids one day!

Seth and I have been married for almost 4 years now!! Seems like a long time but I feel as though we are learning so much now in our marriage. Right now I am reading a book with the women at church, War of Words. It is great and I recommend it for anyone... it is about Godly communication and what the Lord planned for our words.

I am so thankful for where God has placed Seth and I. We live across the breezeway from our best friends and live very close to the other ones who live in--Keller and Plano. We are members of a fabulous church that is led with great reverence to the Lord's will and I have learned so much.

I miss my family a lot (only down side to living in Fort Worth) but I get to see them as often as I can. I am so happy for my sister Halley and her fiance Cole--they just got engaged and have a precious baby boy!! I miss you guys.

I guess that is all I can think of that is up to this point, I guess I better save the future events for another day on my blog! :)
